>mkdir create/dir
More properly, "create/directory"
>ls dir
More properly, "directory"
>ls -la dir /fu
>(warning, there are no hidden directories on VMS)
>(there are available HARDLINKS starting in 7.3-1)
More properly "directory/full". And, if I understand a hard link (i.e., two
names, in separate directories pointing to the same file), VMS has had hard
links for close to forever (albeit not across volumes) - see
SET FILE/ENTER. VMS V7.3-1 is introducing another "hard link", calling the
former hard link simply an "alias". VMS V7.3-1 takes a different approach to
links on ODS-5 volumes.
>vi edit
>(warning, no vi emulation to my knowledge...)
"edit", sure, but also "edit/tpu", "edit/edt", "edit/teco", or "lsedit",
depending on which editors you have installed and want to run. I think TECO is
closer to vi than either EDT or EVE.
VIM is a vi emulation that runs on many systems, including VMS.
>ps monitor system
I think "show system" is a closer analog to ps than is "monitor system".
