Guilty as charged.  I imagine VMS used a few ideas from Unix, but my phrase
"descendant" [note spelling] was just trying to get away from "clone".
Apparently not far enough.  :-}

Of course.  I never claimed otherwise.  "descendent", however, implies VMS
is
derived from Unix roots.  While Unix is an antecedent of VMS, it is not a
progenitor.
