Last week I wrote in reply to Craig Berry: !Craig Berry wrote in a reply to me: ! !> I don't think it's a new problem; I think we just didn't run into it very often until recently. ! !Having spent some time yesterday !poring over the diff between Find.pm !as shipped with perl 5.8.0 (little difference) !as well as with perl 5.6.1 (big differences !due to support added for Mac OS) I was !beginning to reach the same unfortunate !conclusion. I have more information on this: the File::Find that shipped with perl 5.8.0 (namely $File::Find::VERSION 1.04) has the same "follow logical names instead of recurse through directory trees" bug that the one that ships with recent perl 5.8.1 candidates (in particular $File::Find::VERSION 1.04 (sic)). In fact it looks like the unversioned File::Find that shipped with perl 5.6.1 had the same problem. I have to go back to perl 5.005_02 to obtain a File::Find that does not incorrectly follow logical names. Unfortunatelty I do not have a working copy of perl 5.005_03 installed. Peter Prymmer
