Oops.  Due to trying to do too many things at once I carefully synced
to the latest and then carefully built and reported on an old version
in a different directory.  Sorry for the confusion.  With [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I do still see the failures below.  At the moment this is still just
a report and I hope to get patches in before the deadline this time
next week.

I don't see any movement on MakeMaker in the last six months or so,
so it could be a bit of a wait.  I patched the one VMS issue I know
about with 6.21_xx five months ago:
