Since I never built 5.8.4 on VAX (or actually any version until I acquired a virtual VAX a couple of weeks ago) I can't say with certainty what will work for you. If you are running 5.8.4 on VAX now, then you may want to stick with that if debugging Perl builds is not your main interest. I certainly hope 5.8.9 will be viable on VAX, but there are some issues I have not yet resolved and others are popping up all the time, so there are no guarantees. -- ________________________________________ Craig A.
