Interesting way to request help. I like it. -----Original Message----- From: Grant McDorman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, November 21, 2002 11:00 AM To: Andrew Ward; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: $20 reward to anyone who solves my VNC problem
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 One question: do you have Num Lock turned on? Many Solaris applications, and some generic Unix applications, see Num Lock as an extra modifier; as a result, when you think you're doing Ctrl+Mouse you're really doing Ctrl+NumLock+Mouse, which has no action associated. If so, there are three solutions: * Turn off Num Lock * Clear the Num Lock modifier [xmodmap -e 'clear mod3'] (but then the numeric keypad won't work) * Add the appropriate translations for your applications. This is relatively easy for xterm; for others it may be difficult to determine. I can make up some basic ones for the xterm for you. You can also use xev to see the exact events sent to the applications; unfortunately, xev isn't included in the distrubtions any more. I can send you a compiled version if you want.
