Hi Matthew.

I'm sure that someone who uses VNC under XP will be able to help you, but
until then, if you want to run VNC from the Start folder, try putting a
shortcut to VNC in there instead of VNC itself. Just make sure that the
shortcut's "start in" pints to the VNC directory and it should be able to
start itself.
