Hallo!

To be honest, I have no idea.... :-/ [..] no special software
[..] installed. [..] configured all the natural way [..]
something like that in Win2K, no ? I forgot it all... [..]
I guess you must have installed Win2k ICS then.
To open vnc ports to the public you need to do the following:
- open the properties of the dialup connection
- click on the "shared use" tab (5th one; I don't know its
english title)
- on the bottom of the page there is a button..click it!
- click on the "services" tab (2nd tab)
- add a service:
- name it "vnc-rfb-5900" (add the DISPLAY# to 5900)
- port number: 5900+DISPLAY#
- protocol is tcp
- address of the local server: the lan-ip of your vnc-server
- to use the java client add another service:
- name it "vnc-http-5800" (add the DISPLAY# to 5800)
- port number: 5800+DISPLAY#
- protocol is tcp
- address of the local server: the lan-ip of your vnc-server
- look if the vnc-* entries are checked

Hope this works!

BTW: please reply to the list ONLY (I don't want those double posts.)
