Hello all!

I've been running WinVNC 3.3.3R9 successfully for some 9 months or more
where the server is installed on a Win2k and I view from my WinXP.

I installed 3.3.7 today, and although it ran successfully for about 10
minutes, it stopped working after I rebooted the Win2k (on which the
server runs). Now when I reboot, both the server service and service
helper start properly, however when I launch the viewer from my WinXP
computer I get the Connection Details box, but when I press OK the
viewer just disappears, never to return! (BTW, if I enter a fake server
name, it *does* return with the "Failed to get server address" error).

Even though the GUI never appears, the vncviewer.exe program is listed
as still running. The server will allow me to exit the helper, but the
service will not stop, nor can I end the task using the Task Manager.
After that happens, the only way to stop the server is to reboot the
Win2k computer.

I've reinstalled 3.3.3R9 again, and everything works perfectly again.

Is there some bug in 3.3.7? I looked through all the FAQs as well as
the archived mailing list messages, but can't find anything like this.
Have I overlooked something?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Jeff Vannest
