Multiple Network Cards

I am running a Windows XP machine with VMWare's Workstation (3.2).  This 
creates two (virtual) network connections, LAN Connections 3 & 4 (Don't 
know what took # 2, maybe dialup).  I cannot use the VNC Viewer to 
connect to another computer, I must go through the web browser.  Also, 
nothing can connect to it, for whatever odd reason.

I cannot ping to or from this machine, when I ping from it, I get an 
'error code 65' message.  Is this perhaps because of the multiple 
network connections?

I searched through the archives, couldn't find anything on this.  Thanks 
in advance!
