This sounds like a registry issue, open regedit with vnc running, delete
the /current_user/software/orl/winvnc3 directory. Open up vnc default
settings (winvnc -defaultsettings, look at the title of the properties
window) and reset the password.

This should solve the problem.

What is going on is you have only or different current user settings
then default for vnc and they are confusing each other.

Subject: NT problems

A few questions, I am running ultravnc, the vnc service runs fine on all
my 98
machines, after bootup and logging off, the icon is always there. On 2
of my
NT machines it does not stay when
logged off. I log back in and the icon is not there, I checked services
in
contrl panel to see if the service is running and it says it is. I then
start
the server
and it adds the icon in the tray but ofcourse still wont stay. It
doesn't make
sence.

When it is locked it does stay but I cant get into it still, it brings
up
to enter the pword and I type it in, and it acts as though it worked,
the
pword screen disapears but nothing comes up after. Anyone that can help,
thank you.
