I've put VNC 4 Beta on my machines to give it a run. I know it's only a test version, but I'm finding significant performance problems compared with the version I had been running (3.3.3 I believe). Specifically:
- Double click is almost inoperative. I've tried slowing down and speeding up my normal double click speed, but it very rarely fires. This contrasts to the previous version which was reliable in almost all circumstances for double click. - Clicking in the "page down/up" part of a scroll bar very frequently locks up and scrolls to the bottom/top of the document. Quickly moving the mouse pointer off the scroll bar after the click is the only way to avoid this. The previous version showed this problem only on rare occasions. I'm going to have to move back to version 3 as this Beta is unusable in my environment, but I wonder if these are known problems with the Beta. (My environment is Win 2K, 100MB LAN, smallest machine is 800 MHz and has 192 MB RAM.)
