Hi,

I am using VNC on a LAN for end user assistance my setup is as follows.

I run a custom script which does the following:

Connect to the remote machines admin share

Copy VNC files onto the remote machine

Import the registry entries onto the remote machines registry

Register VNC as a service on the remote machine

Start the VNC service on the remote machine

Run the VNC viewer and connects to the remote host and wait until it exits

Stop the VNC service

Un-register VNC as service

Remove the registry entries from the remote machines registry

Delete the VNC files from the remote machine

The problem I have is that as soon as the VNC viewer disconnects, even with
the wallpaper removal disabled in the registry entries, VNC server resets
the desktop wallpaper to that specified in HK_USERS\,DEFAULT as it doesn't
know who is logged in since the helper app is not running.

Is there no way of disabling wallpaper handling completely as bandwidth is
not a problem for me, but end users complaining about loosing their
wallpaper is driving me mad!!!!

The only other option I can see would be to copy the uses wallpaper setting
over the .default setting before running VNC and restore it afterwards but
this will be a pain to do.

Any ideas would be welcomed at this point.

Cheers,

                          Brett
