James,
Yes, I am running xclipboard on the server machine (Linux). If I
stop it, then I do not have the problem. Now I understand the cause.
Thanks.
But I found that I need xclipboard sometimes to copy from the server
to the client. For example, if I want to copy a selection from
gnome-terminal, sometimes I have to copy it to the xclipboard and then
to the client. Otherwise, the old content on the clipboard will be
copied. Is there a reliable way to copy the Linux server to Windows
client without running xclipboard?
  Thank you.

Yue
