Hi, I've been away from this list for a few years and left my systems as they were. Last year, I updated and now have been using RealVNC 4 for several months using the native Windows server/viewer under 98/NT/ME/XP/2003. No unpleasant surprises there.
However, now, when trying out Java (involving getting Sun Java 1.4.2 for example) and ranging from v4 beta upto the current v4 on all my PCs, I have failed to determine how to achieve equivalent critical behaviour I recall from 2001/2 versions. Most importantly, under Java, I can find no way of sending CNTRL-ALT-DEL and I'm sure this used to be possible (along with cut & paste buffers that I think are no longer necessary as those operations are now allowed or not via connection options). (if I recall correctly) some sort of dynamically created control panel is displayed when I client-server connection is established. Of course, that functionality was of little use when controlling a 98/ME Windows system. I may have been using Microsoft Java 2 years back - could this be the key difference ? So, how is CNTRL-ALT-DEL sent to a remote Java session ? cheers, Mark _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [email protected] To remove yourself from the list visit: http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
