No, I would suggest you visit http://www.whatismyip.com and have him connect to THAT address, as both the "192.168.x.x" and "169.254.249.x" are "reserved" IP addresses for use on a LAN and do not travel over the internet. that being said, I believe the 169 address is the default address on Microsoft products when an adapter can't get an IP address. What you'll need to do somehow, is find out what your external IP address is from your ISP. The website I mentioned earlier (and there are others like it, that's just the only one *I* know by heart! <G>) will tell you that. John
