Done the port forward. Tried disabling Norton.
Firewall is permanently off. Still no response on 5900? SO, a couple things to try: When at home (the server end): go to http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and scan for 5900 If this says closed, then it is being blocked at your router or your pc. First make sure the router has a port forward set-up Second double check the xp firewall third if you are running any type of antivirus shut it completely down, along with any other "security" tools you have. As you perform these steps keep checking the status of 5900 from the web page. At some point you will find your culprit. If it says success on the web page, try again from work if it is blocked then work may be blocking otraffic, the only way to verify would be to try from another remote location. --ANgelo On 4/13/05, Michael Bentley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I have a router and the firewall is switched off although I had already done > what you suggested with the same result. > > Regards > > Michael Bentley > * : 44 (0)20 8958 1382 - Home > * : 44 (0)7947 125934 - Mobile > * [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > -----Original Message----- > From: Angelo Sarto [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 12 April 2005 23:46 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: [email protected] > Subject: Re: VNC connection > > Most likely culprit is windows xp built in firewall you need to make > an exception for vnc the application (winvnc.exe) or the prot number > TCP 5900 > > --Angelo > > On 4/12/05, Michael Bentley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I was connecting to my home PC from my office when on Windows 2000 and VNC > > 3.3.
