For the "remote location"
Please answer the following, it will help to narrow down a lot of
causes quickly:

Connection Type: DSL/Cable/56k/isdn/etc
Router/Firewall info: Is there a Hardware router? Brand? Model?

Antivirus Software: Brand/Version?
Software Firewall: Brand/Version?

Operating System: Windows XP, 2000, Linus, Unix, etc....
VNC brand/rev: RealVNC 4.1, TightVNC, UltraVNC, etc...

Note: IP Addresses, domain names and Port numbers are usually not
necessary for troubleshooting.
