Mike:

        Heya. If you'll forgive the self-promotion here...the
easiest solution to accessing multiple clients behind different
unconfigured firewall routers is to use EchoVNC. It's not its
own VNC flavor, it just makes existing VNC installations (such as
RealVNC) easier to use. We just released version 1.32 this week:

http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=472417

The idea is pretty simple: you run a relay-server (we
call it an "echoserver") on one of your PC's. You setup the
port-forwarding, firewalling, and/or dynamic-DNS'ing so that
all of your clients can connect to it. Once they are connected
to it via EchoVNC, you can initiate "firewall friendly" VNC
connections to them. When you connect to them, you can use
their echoserver "login name", so you don't need to know (and
don't need to ask them for) their IP address. Lastly, if you
have the OpenSSL toolkit installed, the data-content of the
VNC connection is end-to-end encrypted with 128-bit AES.

EchoVNC is free, open-source, and Windows-only. The
echoserver software is available for both Windows and Linux. We
also run a "demo server" (EchoVNC's startup wizard will offer
to connect you it automatically) so you can test drive the
software easily.

        Hope that helps!

Dear VNC guru's,
I hate people begging in emails but I am really in a quandary! I have
been going blind over the last 6 years and now I am almost totally
blind. I am in the computer repair business and need to be able to do
three things:

1. Connect to my customers computers remotely and make repairs on them.

Since I can no longer drive a car I need to be able to connect to
computers to remove viruses, fix printer issues, generally maintain the
computers for a fee. It's how I make a living. I need information on
which version of Real VNC to purchase. ( they have a great product and I
don't mind paying them for what they provide!

2. Be able to connect to networks (people using firewalls and routers)

I still have not seen a bullet proof way of doing this. This is the
biggest obstacle I come into. I can connect to virtually any PC using
real vnc IF and I do mean if they are not using a router and or
firewall.. I would be willing to pay someone to help walk me through the
process of getting in to machines so I don't have to go on disability!

3. Use a program (like Real VNC) with a screen reader (jaws 6.1)

I can use real vnc with my screen reader and it works awesome
however, I have to pay an extra 200.00 per year to buy the license to
use the remote feature in Jaws.

If anyone out there has any or all of my answers please I would really
appreciate an email. If you are not totally sure how to do it please
don't waste your time or mine. I am not trying to be an ungrateful jerk
I just need to get answers and get them fast.

Respectfully,
Mike
