Yes, I did look into .vnc directory and tried to kill that pid. Says, "no
such process".

Well, I'm out of ideas... maybe someone else on the list will be able to
help. the only other thing I can think of is to look for the PID file? In
my linux system (starting VNC manually) it's in ~/.vnc/hostname:1.pid for
the first and so on.
