I'd suggest using http://gemal.dk/browserspy/ip.php instead of http://www.whatismyip.com/ because if you are using proxy server in your web browser, it tries to identify it and shows you both your IP address and the one of the proxy server. On the other hand, if you want to know your *internal* (LAN) IP address, go to http://reglos.de/myaddress/MyAddress.html (Java required) - there's a Java applet that will show you this address. It will appear just above the line with the text "Advanced Features". If the *external* address shown by the first link and the internal one shown by the third link differ, you are almost certainly behind a "masquerade" or NAT and your address is inaccessible from outside. BTW. Because I need such a feature to help my users, I am currently in the process of setting up a web page that will show all three addresses together. I will post here when it will be available.
