The advantage of vnc.so is that it's loadable and therefore more efficient, with better response time and update latency. The advantage of x11vnc is that it is scriptable and portable, and works against any X server, including solaris and x terminals. : I'm not really a devel or anything like that, just helping out to the : best of my ability on the list.
