I downloaed the lastest version of the Free VNC.
The server is installed on Windows Vista Home Premium.
The client is installed on Windows XP Pro
When I attempt to connect I get a message box with "read: Connection
aborted(10053) Do you wish to reconnect to <servername>:5900"
Unfortunately, the Free Edition does not yet support Vista. Many of us
on this list hope that it will be available soon. Until then, you should
be using Remote Desktop. On the Premium machine, simply right-click
properties on MyComputer, select the Remote tab, and enable "Remote
Desktop". Then from the XP machine, run the client with
Start->Programs->Accessories->Remote Desktop Connection, and when
prompted, enter the IP or hostname of the Premium machine. I think you
will be very impressed with the performance, and it also supports file
transfer and routes the remote sound locally as well.
