VNC is here since decades. If you have an old/ancient/antique laptop or desktop with its origional os, you might be able to use it for vnc. In the past I've even seen Xterminals with a vnc client that work without any problems.

As far as I remember, VNC is here for msWindows 95 and upwards, it might be available for Windows 3.11 too. And for any unix flavor with an X11 interface (even before X11R4) you might find binaries or will be able to build from source.

Then there are many current harware boxes that can run java applications. The vnc-viewer as used in the webinterface is a java application. Hence, you should be able to use them too.

Hence as long as you can get the vnc-viewer working, it should work

If you're looking for a thin client, the one Ive used and thus I'd
think of immediately is Axel (http://www.axel.com/). They are actually more
than VNC clients but RDP and Citrix clients as well.

There are also VNC thin client devices out there but I don't know all
of them, unfortunately.

Dear Mr.,

in my company we have a small lab to give trainingcourses. The servers on
which we give trainin however make to much noise, so we would transfer
them to
a remote place, 50 meters away from the lab. I would like to use
vnc-software
and thin clients to lett trainees have access (every single trainee has
one
single server, so one single thin client). I would like to know which
vnc-product you would advice me, suggestion for a certain thin client,
additional software...?

Best regards,

Diego
