When you say "kill the terminals", it sounds as if you're killing some
xterms on the server?
I'm not sure what VNCThing could be doing to cause the server to stop
receiving keystrokes like this - if you quit VNCThing and restart it,
the server shouldn't be carrying over any state from the previous
connection.
Do you still see it if you use one of the other Mac viewers? Once it
happens, if you quit VNCThing and reconnect with a different viewer
are keystrokes still ignored?
Also worth checking to see if you can type into other windows: if you
leave some kind of X editor open in the background, can you switch to
that and type there when the xterms stop responding?
