I had a good thing going: I could view my Mandrake 6.1 desktop using VNC with no problem at all! I tried to compile and replace the AT&T version with the SSH enabled version based on TriviaVNC. Since then, I am stuck with the grey background. Reinstalling the latest VNC server from AT&T did not fix the problem! I went back to the basics and re-read all the docs with no results. I tried the XAuth, XHost... and all shows I sould be seeing something. The log file tells me the Xvnc is not allowed to access the display. How do you fix this? I know that a reinstall (or a new install) of Linux fixes the problem but it is not a good solution for me at this time. Is there anyone out there that can explain the specific procedure to fix such a problem? This should definitely be more detailed in the FAQ! Help, anyone?
