I'm running vncserver on a Linux box, and the client on a Windows NT box.
I'm using the Sun JDK 1.3 on the server box. With the reguloar client, this
works great (this is an amazing product). When I start it up the server I
get this affirmation in the log...
13/02/01 15:54:25 Xvnc version 3.3.3r2
13/02/01 15:54:25 Copyright (C) AT&T Laboratories Cambridge.

VNC
13/02/01 15:54:25 Desktop name 'X' (strydera.dc.magnet.com:1)
13/02/01 15:54:25 Protocol version supported 3.3
13/02/01 15:54:25 Listening for VNC connections on TCP port 5901
13/02/01 15:54:25 Listening for HTTP connections on TCP port 5801
13/02/01 15:54:25 URL http://strydera.dc.magnet.com:5801
But I can't the Java applet to work from a browser on the client machine.
I'm using the following URL:
http://strydera.dc.magnet.com:5801
When I attempt to access the Java applet, though, the following errors show
up in the log.
13/02/01 15:54:34 httpd: get '' for 208.192.177.234
13/02/01 15:54:34 httpd: defaulting to 'index.vnc'
13/02/01 15:54:34 httpProcessInput: open: No such file or directory
and, sure enough, the error in the browser is "File Not Found."
I tried putting the VNC classes directory, as well as vncviewer.jar, in the
CLASSPATH but that didn't help. This has been frustrating. Any aid in this
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Ralph
