Hey, all! First, I'm a newcomer to the list, but I discovered VNC
almost a year ago.

Now, though, I'm having a problem with one of the more advanced
features of VNC, namely the -inetd option. As I describe this,
though, keep in mind that it took me about half an hour to get all of
this working at my office. Unfortunately, it's at my home that this
is valuable to me.

The system at my office is a Debian system running XFree86 v3.?.?.
The system at my home is a Slakware system running XFree86 v4.

I am trying to set up VNC to run out of inetd and use GDM for user
logins. I have GDM working correctly on display :0, and VNC launches
correctly from port 5950, but for some unknown reason, the X session
that VNC creates is unwilling to give permission for *anything*, even
programs running as root or as the user gdm, to run.

In fact, the actual message I get runs along the lines of:
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect.

So, does anyone know how I can get around this? I'd like to do it
without compromising security since I want to be able to access my
system this way from the internet.

Thanks, all!
