Well now Steve... We were quick to condemn, and I have received no response
from
you regarding my explanation of needing an answer to this problem...
Next time take some time to evaluate your abrasive self presumptuous replies
to a board that I was under the impression was here to help others.
Usually the one who assumes others are evil, are the first ones with
something to hide, and as one of my colleagues once said:
"It is the thieves who have the best locks"
And no need to worry, thanks to you, and people like you, I will be removing
myself from
the vnc-list. Probably because this is the last place I would of expected this
nonsense...
My apologies to the good people of this board who I have helped, and have helped
me.
Bob

Labeled as lazy and a sneak? Quite the contrary... How about
trying to maintain integrity of over 450 systems by preventing deviants who
already have a
tool called VNCscan from going in and changing passwords... I am starting
to run out of options. I have already had to change vlan subnets for that.
If certain people see the tray icon it is assumed that that machine is available
for the taking.
I would call it clever myself...

You won't get much help here. It is generally assumed that if you want to
hide the icon your purpose is probably to spy on someone without their
knowledge. Most people on this list consider that unethical if not illegal
and are not interested in helping. It is hard to imagine any other reason
why you would want to hide the icon.
Also this topic has been discussed many times and is in the FAQ and all
through the archives. Asking this question proves that you didn't make even
a minimal effort to find the answer on your own. This labels you as both
lazy and a sneak.
