Hi, I am having some VNC problems. When I try to connect to my server, I just get the default X background (dotted black/white). The log says the following: 20/04/01 20:16:50 Xvnc version 3.3.3r2 20/04/01 20:16:50 Copyright (C) AT&T Laboratories Cambridge. 20/04/01 20:16:50 All Rights Reserved. 20/04/01 20:16:50 See http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc for information on VNC 20/04/01 20:16:50 Desktop name 'X' (findus:1) 20/04/01 20:16:50 Protocol version supported 3.3 20/04/01 20:16:50 Listening for VNC connections on TCP port 5901 20/04/01 20:16:50 Listening for HTTP connections on TCP port 5801 20/04/01 20:16:50 URL http://findus:5801 AUDIT: Fri Apr 20 20:16:53 2001: 492 Xvnc: client 1 rejected from local host Xlib: connection to ":1.0" refused by serverM Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to ServerM xrdb: Can't open display ':1' AUDIT: Fri Apr 20 20:16:53 2001: 492 Xvnc: client 1 rejected from local host Xlib: connection to ":1.0" refused by serverM Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to ServerM xsetroot: unable to open display ':1' AUDIT: Fri Apr 20 20:16:53 2001: 492 Xvnc: client 1 rejected from local host Xlib: connection to ":1.0" refused by serverM Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to ServerM xterm Xt error: Can't open display: :1 AUDIT: Fri Apr 20 20:16:53 2001: 492 Xvnc: client 1 rejected from local host Xlib: connection to ":1.0" refused by serverM Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to ServerM twm: unable to open display ":1" And when I try to start an xterm: $ xterm -display :1 Xlib: connection to ":1.0" refused by server Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server xterm Xt error: Can't open display: :1 I have added the local host (findus.dhs.org -- and its alises findus, f, the IP address and so on.), but it just won't work. I had it working at one time, but when I logged out and tried to start the server again, it stopped working -- just the default black/white dotted X background. It used to work before, I have no idea what I've done wrong.
