This problem started happening just recently, after I put the latest patches from windowsupdate, a week or two ago. Both the client and server are running on win2k. Running the latest version (3.3.3r9). I can connect to the vnc server fine, but when I disconnect and try again it doesn't work. I get the password prompt window, enter my password, and then vnc just hangs, no windows or dialogs (it's in the process list and I can kill it). It doesn't time out, doesn't go away by itself, just hangs. On the server side looks like _something_ may be connected to it (the cpu usage of the process seems to indicate it's working hard). I can't kill the process, I can't stop the service (I just get a timeout after a minute or two and the service status says 'stopping'). So it's reboot time. This has never happened before, I had the server often running for weeks, but one of the recent win2k pro windowsupdate patches broke something (yes, I reinstalled vnc). I don't recall making any other changes to my system (though it's possible of course).
