Yes, you are setting the current user password not the default password,
found in start -> vnc -> administrative tools -> Show Default Settings

I've seen this happen (the original question) many times on one particular
windows 2000 box.  It seems that it when we reboot it, it reverts back to
the previous password.

you are prob. locked in as the wrong user, the you type vncpasswd.

Hi everyone, just joined the list, and don't know if this has come up in the
past, but has anyone ever had problems with passwords not working for the
VNC login?  But the thing is, when I type in the previous password, it
works.  Any ideas?
