My boss has the VNC server on his workstation, and uses it fairly often to access it from home. He's had an unusual problem crop up -- once every couple of weeks or so, while the workstation is locked, the system will stop reading keystrokes from the keyboard buffer, making it impossible to enter a password. The mouse still works, and it still responds to Ctrl-Alt-Del, but the keyboard buffer fills until hitting any alphanumeric key gives the classic "keyboard buffer full" beep from the speaker. This problem didn't show up until he started using VNC. Has anyone else run into this behavior? The workstation is running Windows NT 4.0 SP6. I have not had this problem with my own workstation, but I don't use VNC nearly as extensively. ---------- David Brodbeck, System Administrator InterClean Equipment, Inc.
