Hi,
I am running vncserver 3.3.3r2 on Solaris 2.6. When ever I start the vncserver, the following processes are also started. Is this the normal behavior. Why are these processes started. When I stop the vncserver, these processes do not stop. Over a period of time, if I start and stop the vncserver several times, a lot of zombie process are running. Is there a way to avoid this? anandn@anandn-ultra > ps -ef |grep sdt anandn 11422 1 0 14:42:40 ? 0:00 /bin/ksh /usr/dt/bin/sdtvolcheck -d -z 5 cdrom anandn 11398 11353 0 14:42:35 pts/3 0:00 [ sdt_shel ] anandn@anandn-ultra > ps -ef |grep sdt anandn 11422 1 0 14:42:40 ? 0:00 /bin/ksh /usr/dt/bin/sdtvolcheck -d -z 5 cdrom anandn 11398 11353 0 14:42:35 pts/3 0:00 [ sdt_shel ] anandn@anandn-ultra > ps -ef |grep notif anandn 11311 1 0 14:41:42 ? 0:00 /bin/cat /tmp/.removable/notify8 anandn 11467 11422 0 14:42:46 ? 0:00 /bin/cat /tmp/.removable/notify11 anandn 11312 1 0 14:41:42 ? 0:00 /bin/cat /tmp/.removable/notify5 anandn 11310 1 0 14:41:42 ? 0:00 /bin/cat /tmp/.removable/notify10 anandn 11316 1 0 14:41:42 ? 0:00 /bin/cat /tmp/.removable/notify7 anandn 11315 1 0 14:41:42 ? 0:00 /bin/cat /tmp/.removable/notify9 Thanks Anand _______________________________________________________________ Anand Narasimhan [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
