I'm currently running an old version of regular VNC on BSD/OS 4.1,
because the current version crashes when a connection is made.
The I saw the announcement of the latest TightVNC, which is attractive
because some of our use is over v90 modems.

The make for the server fails on:
vnc_unixsrc/Xvnc/programs/Xserver/hw/vnc/init.c line 301 because the
symbolic constant is not recognised:

 interface.s_addr = htonl (INADDR_LOOPBACK);

By this time I had already installed the Windows version on my laptop,
only to discover that a Win32 TightVNC server would not talk to my
regular VNC viewer, and I've had a merry time trying to remove
TightVNC from my laptop so I can get back to the version that will
talk back to my office machines.

Is there experience of using the two versions with each other, and
wisdom someone would like to share about getting an up to date
server going on BSD/OS?
