I don't think you went off-topic, Richard.

It's a thin (and sometimes invisible) line between user and developer in the
open source world.  Talking about similar products is a good way of addressing
where VNC may need to go.

True multi-user support on Windows would be a rat's nest; having some way to
easily integrate things such as direct cross-LAN file and print support is not
as cumbersome though and is a respectable need in the Windows arena for VNC.
