The basics do work on HP-UX:
Get any official unix distribution for the scripts and java files
Get the HP-UX binaries from the vnc contrib directory
Get Perl (if not already available: http://hpux.tn.tudelft.nl/)

The vncserver provides you an Xserver (Xvnc) on which you can use about
every decent X11 application. For this part, the X11 applications (xterm
etc) should be installed.

The vncviewer on HP-UX is a X11 application and does need a X11 display. But
there is no need to user the viewer on HP-UX. If you have any other
vnc-supported platform, you can use that for vncviewer.

Currently I'm working on the sourcecodecorner setup of vnc on HP-UX. The vnc
side works, I get a vnc display with a login. as long as the login fails
(bad username / password) the vnc part keeps working. But as soon as I login
with a proper username and password, the entrire display dies. This is due
to HP-UX CDE bugs: It cannot do a proper login on displays other than
host:0. If times allows me, I'll check for the required patches.
