Caution:
As always with X-windows check the environment variable DISPLAY is correct first!
{and 2nd, ensure that xhost setting allows access}
e.g.
jones#> csh
jones#> setenv DISPLAY vinny:7.0
jones#> xdpyinfo
n.b. You can do this without having any vncviewer running
e.g. good old telnet. (which could do with a built-in file-transfer hook ;-} and
lively mail-list!)
