Well, the "cool MU" post to the big list was a bust. ( granted it was too
open ended.) And thus I'm going to assume that the little test demo I've
worked up is both cutting edge & pretty darn cool. So if seen it before
I'd like to know - ( course if not, VNet chalks up a first : )
Poetry at the Square
( two small works )
Will do it on Sunday the 13th.
the best time seemed to be:
21:00 GMT ( 4pm for Eastern US )
and then try playing tag...will post a best guess of the "rules" after
another test.
Basically it works on a idea that a "Not-It" person trips a proximity
sensor on the "It" guy. The sensor drives a whichChoice node that makes
that the "It" guy Avatar become a simple but large multilayered shape.
This of course surrounds the particular "Not-It" character who came too
close. Now since its not a MU behavior - only that particular "Not-It"
character is trapped. Trapped because as you mouseOver a Vnet Avatar the
cursor changes so that you can select it & not move yourself.....So if you
are knee deep inside a world wide red layered Avatar you are very much
tagged.
Rather than logon - and off to be "It" & "Not It" both Avatars are actually
one. It toggles through a MU behavior.
Figured I can do a bit more working off these basic tricks - ( course could
learn Java and simply do it the easy way - but wheres the challenge in
that? )
see you sunday
Steve
PS Maybe someone could grab a few screen captures this time : )
