Thanks to those who sent suggestions for business uses of VRML to show my boss.
It worked ;^}
Our company does charity work for the American Trauma Society ( tax
deducatable). We produce a cartoon video series called "Troo the
Traumaroo". Its a kids show about a very safe and helpful kangaroo. At
present we are developing a couple of webpages for Troo, something for
kids. Now Troo is currently done in Lightwave as a 3-D character. So you
can see where this is heading...A Floops type of project teaching kids
safety. We'd place 5-6 unsafe situations in say - a kitchen and have the
kids find them. I figure we'll run "what might've happened" scenes AFTER
each individual situation is remedied. God's know the kids would rather
see the accident than the fix.
I'm excited, we have some cool animators who were looking to do some VRML
work. I'd be behind the concepts and the interactivity NOT the modeling.
No formal proposal is in - just verbal...we are looking to do something in
the next six months, I have a proposal to write
and I've heard some folks can't get the Education Paper. Its now at this
address too:

It may seem odd but it does work and in a pretty cool fashion too, Will
have a demo for this weekend. I really would like some of the respected
old timers ;^) to give it a try...( suggestions on times that fit your
shedules?) -

PS GRA Interactive develops multimedia training for large corporations. It
employs 150 programmers, artists, writers etc. It is also part of Provant,
a loose consortinum of 16 training & education firms in the USA. Eight of
those companies were acquired in the past 8 months. 26 more companies are
in the process of being acquired (most likely by years end). The "Current"
value of Provant is half a billion dollars and all of that business is in
the field of training & education - mostly through multimedia. With
acquistions it may reach two billion.
I've been lucky so far...and if it holds, VRML with have another 800 pound
gorilla ( Provant ) making content.
