We've used the Cisco/Linksys SPA-8000's And haven't liked them to much.

Anyone have any recommendations on an 8 port FXS ATA?

Adtran TA 908 ?? Probably overkill but it works and works well

I have to agree with Matthew on this. We use SPA8000s but have often replaced
them with the Adtran TA900 series (904,908,912,916,924 are the models we
stock). Especially when faxing has been a problem.
Most of the time all the config will take is:

voice user 1112223333
  connect fxs 0/1
  password "password"
  sip-identity 1112223333 T01 register auth-name "1112223333" password
"password"
  sip-authentication password "password"
  codec-group G711ONLY

We have noticed with a couple of odd ball fax machines we have had to set some
fax specific stuff:
  modem-passthrough
  t38
  t38 redundancy high-speed 2
  t38 redundancy low-speed 2

Brian

AudioCodes MP-118 FXS gateways are good too......Configuration is a bit
disjointed but the units are rock solid.

We use AudioCodes ATAs with a lot of success. Try the MP-118
