[1]GeekPress reports, pointing to a [2]Der Spiegel article: "Saved by their indistinguishable DNA, identical twins suspected in a massive jewelry heist have been set free. Neither could be exclusively linked to the DNA evidence." Of course, in the pre-DNA era such a crime would have been even harder to solve, twins or no twins. And even in the post-DNA era the government obviously has some techniques for figuring out which of the twins did the deed, though it sounds like those techniques aren't working well here.
