That
is correct, the header FROM: is required, I had to write a sieve script
to
capture such messages because spammers were sending messages
with
no
FROM, TO, or SUBJECT in the header and these messages caused
problems with users of Norton antivirus when they tried to download
their
mail.
So if
the messages in question truly have no from in the header then
the
problem in my opinion really exists on the senders side, but Vop or
Modus
should
also reject the messages with a specific error so the sender has
it
logged
on their end.
I do
not think Vop or Modus should accept a non RFC compliant
message
the is
missing required header information as it causes problems with
mail
clients when they try to retrieve their mail.
