Luiz,

I can’t agree more with any off your statements. However, as far as I know Sylvain has always been CEO, admittedly they got a little distracted, and particular Sylvain seemed to disappear but that surely is a sign off change.

I am sure Vircom has made this announcement after recent discussions on various mailing lists, with numerous people complaining about buying Service Plans. I do understand that Service Plans cost us a good deal off money, and when they do not bring any benefits we feel hurt / ripped off. Vircom however, has always maintained high standards off support and by paying for the ‘upgrade insurance’ you will see that you get access to this support (I know it’s not included, but try telling Yves, Margot, Charles and the others this!!).

I remember Vircom followed a similar strategy with the release off Modus Mail, with higher prices. For us Modus Mail has been a trustworthy platform and proved to handle whatever we have thrown at it. I’m just looking forward to the next release off Modus Mail which I know will improve on Version 2.x

Regards,

Suneel.

Petar,

You do have a point. Perhaps I was just happy with the fact that I can put my VOPMail server in the same development level as my modusMail server that I didn't do the math with the release dates.

It's true that if you bought your last upgrade plan 12 months ago and you renew, you'll be getting 15 months for nothing, since there's been no upgrades in 12 months and there won't be for another 3. That means about US$350.00 (one year is US$295.00) for nothing. If you are on a support plan, some may say "you could have needed it". However, on upgrade-only service plans, it pretty much paying and getting nothing. Yep... Can't be fully happy about that for true.

Well, but nothing is perfect anyway.

More honest would be to get us into it and start counting the next 12 months after the first 6.0 release. After all, VOPMail 6.0 and the "buy now before it's too late" is a kind of mea-culpa for Vircom, where they almost officially acknowledge that VOPMail was left behind. Who knows: they might be reading this and eventually will agree with us and throw in 3 extra months in the deal.

I'm still happy that the person who founded Vircom is back as CEO and President. Gives me a lot of hope in the feature. Vircom used to be a great partner and I knew I could count on them. That time has passed, but I see it may be coming back again.
