if you can't get it working, you might take a look at InterBase.  Borland
has just come out with a new version that they're probably selling, but the
old version is in public domain so it offers another free alternative.  some
people have also suggested that Microsoft has something free that's a step
up from Access.  I forget the acroymn msde or something like that.
