If you want the Caller-id feature I would recommend you call vircom and talk to Sylvain. He's the guy that can make it happen. I've been talking with him for about 6 mo. See the following email exchange.

Hello Steve,
I fixed a bug in our software which was creating ghost users. And I wanted you to give it a try to see whether it would help your case ...
Your feature request is definitively still planned and our new base of wireless customers also need it.
It is planned for this quarter, I will advise you as soon as it will be available.
Sylvain,

Sylvain,
We installed VOP Radius version 4.0.228 in mid October. We were very excited to get to this new release because it was to have a feature that cleaned up ports based on same calling-station-id. This was to resolve ongoing problems we have with wholesale ports providers where we can not use watchdog packets.
We have not been able to locate the calling-station-id clean up feature which we were told would be disabled by default. Did this feature not make this release as planned? Was the idea scrapped?
Steve

“Can VPRRS detect no activity on a connection and reset it?”
No, however VOPRadius has a feature that works well that with a bit of tweaking cold solve our problems. As it stands now, if a simultaneous login comes from the same NAS/NasPort as a user already connected, the new connection is allowed to replace the current connection rather than being rejected. The thought here is that the only way a new connection could come in with the same NasPort and username is if the current connection is a ghost. This makes perfect sense.
With this said, I have talked to one of the Radius Admins at GP about this and they state that if our Radius Servers could do the same thing with caller-id and username ghosting wouldn’t be a problem.

Globalpops does not send "keep-alive" packets, therefore we are having a problem with simultaneous connections. What are others (with GP) doing to eleviate this problem? Can VPRRS detect no activity on a connection and reset it?
