While I apologize for this being off topic, I suggest the implications of this story are as important to our present lives as anything we might discuss about science. If the assertion is true, the trust of the US in the eyes of the world and the trust by US citizens will be completely destroyed. The proposed lies are reaching such a level that rational people can hardly believe what they hear, yet evidence keeps growing with support from people who are in a position to know the truth. How much worse must the situation become before the issue is no longer viewed simply as "politics", but becomes a matter of national pride, social survival and personal integrity?
