It doesn't have to be that way. Build the reactor and pipes from those same graphite fibers that you want to use for the flywheel of your trike, and the reactor could operate for 240,000 years, mas o menos... ;-) ...seriously (well, almost), check the cross-section tables... Just because we did it wrong the first few times around, doesn't mean we have to repeat our errors, ad nauseum. But we will will first need to get GE and a few other irresponsible corporate gluttons out of the business. jones
