Hi Jones Etc.

It's more like a chlatrate (of sorts); one capable of forming ionic
bonds with other atoms the way an ordinary ion does. Here's
some more on the subject.

The Science website will not let you look at _abstracts_
much less the paper without some coin. This would
bother me much less if the work wasn't done at a state
college payed for out of DOE grant money.

Hi Keith and Nick,

Is not a cluster an exciton? or maybe the question
should be, is not an exciton an "active" cluster of a
particular material in a particular geometric
configuration?
