In this thread I had posted disagreement with warnings about biological effects of cell phone transmitters held agains the head. I have had some discussion with a mathematical physicist whom I highly respect and who also tracks the medical literature. He tells me the effect is real, is being research in Europe, and caution is warranted. He uses a cell phone extensively, but in speakerphone mode where he does not have to hold it against his head. Those who use earbuds with microphone pods are safer as the cell phone is in the pocket, against a less sensitive part of the body -- unless you are using Bluetooth, which is again an RF technology but at a lower power level and shorter range.
